It converts virtually all types of file formats into pdf. Good for printing if u need to take yours documents outside for printing

It works by installing a virtual printer for windows :)

SO all u need to do is just hit print and select the Universal document printer

Check out this cool video!!!

*People maybe wondering why not use the Save as PDF feature of Microsoft Word? Trust me the quality of pdf created by Universal Document Converter is much better if u have more of images
*A rather expensive and bulky alternate is to use Adobe Acrobat but i found Universal Document easy to use

Download by searching for UDC in google or use this  torrent

Drug Discovery and Evaluation: Pharmacological Assays

The rapid progress in biology will continue to change the methodological approach to drug discovery in the coming years. Electronic media will continuously help researchers to access and share information. It is, however, becoming more and more evident that many young pharmacologists have only limited training in classical pharmacological methodologies. These long-standing and still highly relevant methods are simply not available in the electronic databases. Drug Discovery and Evaluation:Pharmacological Assays bridges this gap by comprehensively covering the pharmacological methods that have been utilized successfully for more than a hundred years as well as the latest technologies.

The classical methods and the newest technologies, all in one book!

The 3rd edition of this successful reference book contains an updated selection of the most frequently used assays for reliably detecting the pharmacological effects of potential drugs. Effects covered include cardiovascular, analgesic, endocrine, psychotropic, respiratory, renal, and immunomodulatory activities. Each of the more than 1000 assays comprises a detailed protocol outlining the purpose and rationale of the method, a critical assessment of the results and their pharmacological and clinical relevance. In addition, animal models of rare diseases are described.

For this third edition, all existing chapters have been revised and completely updated. A large number of assays were added: we are now publishing two volumes. Sections that have been specifically enlarged include - Pharmacological assays in thrombosis and haemostasis (formerly called activity of blood constituents), - Antidiabetic activity (includes completely new chapters such as Biochemical Methods in Diabetology), - Anti-atherosclerotic activity.

Principles of Immunopharmacology

Principles of Immunopharmacologyby Frans P. Nijkamp, Michael J. Parnham (Editors)

Paperback: 662 pages

Publisher: Birkhauser; 2 edition (December 22, 2005)

ISBN: 3764358041Book

Description

This textbook provides a unique support in gaining essential knowledge on the immune response, its diagnosis and its modification by drugs and chemicals. The first section of the book, covering a basic introduction to immunology and its relevance for human disease, has been updated to accommodate new immunological concepts. The second section on immunodiagnostics has been further expanded to describe widely used molecular techniques and is followed by a systematic coverage of drugs affecting the immune system, revised to cover recent developments. The book concludes with a chapter on immunotoxicology. This second edition continues the unique format dealing with four related topics in a single volume, obviating the need to refer to several different textbooks. New aids to the reader include a two-column format, glossaries of technical terms and appendix reference tables. The emphasis on illustrations is maintained from the first edition

Targeted Radionuclide Tumor Therapy: Biological Aspects

Targeted Radionuclide Tumor Therapy: Biological AspectsPublisher: Springer Language: English ISBN:1402086954 402 pages Data: 2007 PDF 5 Mb

Description:
The last three decades have provided opportunities to explore the potential of treating malignant diseases with antibodies or other targeting molecules labelled with nuclides. The expanding array of new targeting molecules (recombinant antibodies or peptides) may increase the therapeutic efficacy. The title of this book "Targeted Radionuclide Tumor Therapy – Biological aspects" was selected to reinforce the concept that a major focus was devoted to understanding the biological effects of targeting and radiation. Furthermore, our rapidly expanding knowledge of low dose-rate effects, different types of cell death, autosensitization and the increasingly likely existence of cancer stem cells suggests to us that even more efficient approaches in targeting might be possible in the future. The development of targeted therapy is a true multidisciplinary enterprise involving physician scientists from the fields of nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, diagnostic radiology, surgery, gynaecology, pathology and medical oncology/haematology. It also involves many preclinical scientists working with experimental animal models, immunochemistry, recombinant antibody technologies, radiochemistry, radiation physics and basic cell biology. It is the ambition of the editors to enable deeper insights in the process of improving targeted therapy. We believe that the time now has come when targeted therapy can soon be added to standard oncology treatment regimens.

Clinical Guide to the Use of Antithrombotic Drugs in Coronary Artery Disease

Clinical Guide to the Use of Antithrombotic Drugs in Coronary Artery Disease Publisher:Informa HealthCare Pages:400 2008-04-08 ISBN:1841846392 PDF 5.1 MBAtherothrombotic disease is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality; therefore, anti-thrombotic agents play a pivotal role in primary and secondary prevention of atherothrombotic complications. In A Clinical Guide to the Use of Antithrombotic Drugs, three main sections in the field have been elaborated. In the first, 3 chapters on basics concepts of atherothrombosis are examined. The objectives of these chapters are to provide pathophysiological concepts on atherothrombosis useful to the practicing clinician to understand the rationale for using antithrombotic agents in daily practice. In the second section, 16 chapters describe 4 main categories of antithombotic agents used in clinical practice: oral antiplatelet agents, intravenous antiplatelet agents, thrombin inhibitors, and fibrinolytics. In each category, description and clinical application of currently approved agents as well as agents under clinical investigation are described. The objectives of this section are to provide the stateof the art knowledge on antithrombotic drug use and development. In the third section, a series of 8 chapters examines the application of antithrombotic agents in specific clinical scenarios. The objective of this section is to provide practical insights on how to apply antithrombotic agents in the context of daily clinical scenarios. Overall, this compendium provides a valuable tool for clinicians in their daily clinical practice on how to use currently available antithrombotic agents as well as provide insights on the future development in this field.
